These stationary nets, 39” in length with an 18" wide by a 12" tall frame, sample organisms from shallow flowing waters such as streams, rivers and tidal creeks. Used singly or as a series set side by side, at or below the surface, they capture organisms that have migrated or have been dislodged from the bottom substrates into the current and are particularly useful in making cross section and aquatic life distribution studies. Drift organisms are critical to investigation of the stream ecosystem since they are, obviously, food for fish. Consider drift organisms in any study of fish population, pollutional stresses such as spills, or recolonization of denuded areas.
