Hi-Cap™ Capping Compound melts fast, sets fast, and has lower fumes than other brands!

Capping compound is used during sample preparation for compressive strength testing by creating a totally flat parallel surface and adhering in its liquid-viscous state to cover all imperfections or rough surfaces. Once returned to a solid state its compressive strength increases. In about 2 hours a 2 in (51 mm) cube breaks at 8,000 psi to 9,000 psi (55.16 to 62.05 MPa); you can use it on concrete with strength up to 16,000 psi (110.32 MPa) with confidence.

Hi-Cap™ Capping Compound has been heat purified (degassed) to reduce fumes and odors, produces less dust during testing, and dries at a faster rate. Hi-Cap™ has a melting range of 240°F to 290°F (115 to 143 °C) and comes in easy-melt thin flake form.
