Need to see what’s on the bottom of your stream or pond? Our transparent-bottomed bucket affords a glimpse into the unknown.
Place it in the water and push down until you have a clear view of the bottom. This will tell you if you’ve located a good place to conduct your sampling of zebra mussels, for example. (You can also use it to count zebra mussels, using the pail’s diameter as a grid.)
The durable Rubbermaid plastic pail is mm (9-5/8”) in diameter and 267 mm (10-7/8”) deep. Its transparent plastic bottom is carefully tapered and glued to prevent leakage, which we understand is the bane of similar home-made labs.
