The flat jack kit is composed of a single-delivery hydraulic pressurisation unit connected to a hose fitted with rapid couplings and a pressure gauge to display the pressure. To run the test, along with the hydraulic kit, one needs the instrumentation for measuring the displacements (mechanical deformation meter or displacement transducer and pressure transducer connected to the DaTa500) and a power cutter for making the cuts in the masonry. Running the test with the double jack requires a second hose, set of unions and junction valves. All the equipment is handy and easy to use.
