Digital electrochemical DO sensors with TriOxmatic® electrodes for use with the IQ SensorNet terminals 182, 182 XT, 182 XT-4 and 2020 XT.
The electrochemical method of detecting dissolved oxygen utilizes a semi-permeable membrane, an anode and cathode and an electrolytic solution. The electrical current can be measured and correlates to the oxygen concentration. For accurate results, required conditions include; proper calibration, flow past the membrane, clean electrolyte solution and electrodes, and a clean membrane.
With the TriOxmatic sensors, a 3-electrode patented technology is used. The TriOxmatic sensor functions with a potentiostatically driven 3-electrode system. In terms of measuring technology, this means that two silver electrodes and a gold cathode are in use. One silver anode functions as a non-current bearing reference electrode and the other silver anode is the "live" anode. The reference anode leads to improved signal stability and higher measurement accuracy.
The 3-electrode system also allows for monitoring of the electrolyte supply with the system display capable of indicating when the solution needs to be replaced.
TriOxmatic 700 Series IQ sensors:
Which sensor is right for you?
TriOxmatic 700 IQ (700 IQ SW sea water design also available)
Universal oxygen sensor for measuring and controlling oxygen input in biological wastewater treatment processes. Rugged DO sensor with a very durable 50 micron thick hydrophobic membrane, with a minimal flow rate of 0.5 cm/sec and response time of T90 at 25°C in 180 seconds. Well suited sensor for DO measurements in biological purification stages at wastewater plants and control of oxygenation. The response of the sensor prevents signal disturbances from rising air bubbles in aeration tanks.
TriOxmatic 701 IQ
DO sensor with increased resolution and improved response times. The 701 IQ uses 25 micron thick membranes with a response time of T90 at 25°C in 30 seconds and an amazing T99 response time at 25°C in 90 seconds. This sensor is ideally suited for low level concentration applications such as DO levels in denitrification processes in wastewater plants.
TriOxmatic 702 IQ
The 702 IQ provides similar performance to the 701 IQ but is specifically designed for trace level measurements in the ppb range. The sensor is suited for use in ultra-pure water applications for monitoring of boiler feed water or drinking water purification.
The TriOxmatic can only be used with the process monitors IQ SensorNet 182, 182 XT, 182 XT-4 or the IQ SensorNet 2020 XT.
