The GEOTECH PVT membrane piezometer is suitable for measuring the pore water pressure where an open standpipe solution is not suitable, e.g. in dense soils or where artesian water pressure is present. Lower the sensor unit through the connected pipe and let its needle penetrate the filter tip membrane to measure the pore water pressure.

The membrane type filter tip is available in different materials and is delivered with a connection pipe with standard 1” water pipe threads. When installed, the built in membrane will prevent the water from rising up through the pipe.
PVT Needle probe with data logger
Lower the probe through the piezometer pipe. The needle of the probe will penetrate the membrane of the permanently passive filter tip. The probe can be permanently connected or used for reading real-time values upon visit.
Connect your computer via the USB-crocodile clip for monitoring the pore water pressure, starting/stopping logging, setting logging intervals and uploading the log file. The probe can alternatively be connected to a local network with a telematics unit for remote monitoring and/or instant alarms upon critical values.
