The Seta-Shell 4 Ball Lubricant Tester (manual load) determines friction and wear properties of extreme pressure oils and greases. Used in tribology research laboratories and in the routine quality control of finished lubrication products.

The digital spped controller has four programmable presets, three are pre-programmed to the most commonly used speeds. Duration of the test can be controlled by the digital timer, which has four ranges and spans 0.1 second to 9999 hours. If the balls weld during a test, the power to the drive motor is automatically turned off, via a torque sensing mechanism.
