The Micro-Deval is used to test the resistance of fine/coarse aggregates to abrasion degradation. These tests on fine/coarse aggregates determine their abrasion losses in the presence of water and abrasive loading. They provide information to assist in the assessment of the reaction of fine/coarse aggregates subject to weathering and abrasive actions when other information is not available.
