The Model 1950B.5 Soil Water Sampling Plate is specifically designed to be buried beneath in situ or laboratory soil columns to collect drainage. A continuous vacuum must be applied to collect samples held at soil suctions greater than field capacity. The sampling plate is 10.5" (27 cm) in diameter, with Butyl rubber backing and a stainless steel outflow stem on the bottom side. The bubbling pressure of the porous ceramic plate is in excess of 0.5 bar (50 kPa) and has high-flow characteristics.
