Based on more than 20 years of experience with rheometers for mortar and fresh concrete Schleibinger has developed the new Betonrheometer Viskomat XL. The new measuring instrument closes the gap between the Viskomat NT for mortar and cement, with a sample volume of 360 ml, and the Frischbetonrheometer BT2 with a sample volume of 20 liters. The operating principle of Viskomat XL is almost the same as in Viskomat NT. A probe in the form of a mixer measures the torque and the container with 3 liters of fresh concrete rotates. An additional wiper reduces test material that adheres to the rim of the pot. In the future, other geometries, such as a cylinder-cylinder systems or the glomerulus by Professor Vogel will be available.

The speed of the pot covers the range of 0.001 to 80 revolutions per minute. You can program the speed in several steps or ramps. As an option, a relapsing-voltage-controlled mode or oscillation mode is available.

The Viskomat XL has a torque range of 0..1000 Ncm with a resolution of 0.05 Ncm. 

The temperature of the test material is controlled by a double-walled measuring cup which is traversed by a cooling liquid. The material temperature is measured by a PT100 temperature sensor, which is installed in the measuring paddle. During the measurement, this temperature is recorded.
